What do you suggest for a car, a pontiac 1994 firebird(v6) or a 1999 honda civic?

I'm looking to buy a car but im really confused. most people have suggested i go for foreign cars because they're better and give less trouble. I really love the pontiac cos it looks cool! its sleek and good for a girl but it is going to take more gas??! plzz helpp!!!!!!
