Can become a good physicist?

Hello, I'm really into physics and read and watch a lot about it. I'm not ultra-smart but lately when I read and watch these physics books and shows, I realise that most (if not all) physicists in these are either maths prodigies or they went to the most prestigious school in their country. I would just say I was an average guy, but do I really have to have what they have to become a successful physicist?
