Is there a way i can find out if a horse is registered without knowing his name?

I have a 4-5yr old black and white overo paint gelding. I can not find out any info as to where he came from or what his first name was or who his parents were. He has AMAZING conformation and his markings are very unique and beautiful. I have done a google search for "overo paint horses" and found 6 horses that have almost the exact same markings on their faces and also some similar body markings but all are out west, none near Georgia. Anyways, back to the question. Is there any way possible I can find out if he is registered without his real name? Like can you send in a few pictures or a blood test or anything? I would love to find out his bloodlines, he looks like a halter horse and naturally stands perfectly squared every time he is standing still.
