Was this abuse or someone highly allergic?
It has been on ongoing battle with my girlfriend who has dumped me about three times because she says she can't deal with the odors I carry. She has stated that she is highly sensitive to fragrances, like what they put in shampoos and laundry detergents, and especially air fresheners. She says her dad had issues with sound, and she does as well. I had air fresheners in my home and unplugged them all, but she states it has permeated everything, including my skin, my clothes, my backpacks, etc. When I would come to see her I would have to shower, even if I had just showered hours before at my home, and could only then put on clothes that we kept at her house. If I met her somewhere and we didn't have a "clean" shirt, she would claim that she would get a headache and couldn't stand to be near me. I used to have to change my shirt in the parking lot before we did anything. I at one point offered to move out to an untainted home, but she said it would take like a year for the chemicals to leave my body. I contacted her "counselor" friend about it at the very end. I was very confused. Her friend chimed with everything she used to say. Many people on my side feel this was abuse. I used to feel like dirt, she would ignore me if we went out dancing, because I was "unclean", but would continue to shmooze and dance with everyone else, claiming that only my odors affected her because she was tuned to them. She would hack and cough letting me know I was offending her. Any opinions? I know people have allergies, but some people think this was borderline abuse.
